My favorite role as a dancer is that of choreographer. For as long as I can remember, dance has just flowed out of me. I've always had a knack for improving entire dances on the spot that were of excellent quality.
During my sophomore year of college, I spent two semesters studying dance composition which helped me add structure, transitions, and depth to the pieces I would create. Those classes also opened my eyes to so many more pathways of movement and expression.
Fast forward 20 years to when I began in-depth studies on astrology and the Elements. I started connecting the dots and saw how those two things could work hand in hand. I realized that the energetic signatures found in the cosmos and in our natural world could also be expressed in our bodies. Furthermore, by doing so, we can alter our own energetic states to match the frequencies that align with our soul's highest path.
So I began playing with movement phrases and shapes that matched the energy of each of the planets. Not only did that fast-track my understanding of astrology but it helped me develop a new coaching method which I call Cosmic Choreography.
Cosmic Choreography is the practice of composing and collecting movement sequences designed to embody and reflect the attributes of different celestial bodies and their energetic influences.
Dance and movement practices in general are a potent medicine and incredibly supportive to our mental and emotional well-being. The phrases I create for my clients are designed to correct any energetic imbalance found in their astrology charts (or through other divinatory means). I’ve found this to be like an amplified type of mantra because you’re using your whole body to express the energy you long to feel. I believe this process could also be applied to our planet and the communities we’re a part of. My dream is to create full-scale works of movement art that can shift the atmosphere, bringing healing to the land we inhabit and to those precious souls in our sphere of influence.
