Each of the last five years has brought massive change and transformation. This year was no different, but in many ways, it was dramatically different.

2024 was a year of deep internal reflection and shifts. I tucked myself away from the world to reprioritize the people and projects that mattered the most.

At the beginning of 2024, I relaunched my website and simultaneously started a podcast, which resulted in 10 episodes on the topic of spiritual dance. I also buckled down and completed my book on Dance Divination, which was released on Amazon this Samhain. Additionally, I started choreographing and teaching dance again.

When I did come out of my hermit cave, I focused on my family as my kids were both making their transitions into college and adulthood. And I invested in the friendships that have stood the test of time - the ones that share my values and match my desire for authentic connection and emotional intimacy. But more than anything, this was a year of rebuilding my relationship with myself and learning to love spending time with me.

The beginning of 2024 brought significant health challenges, which I eventually realized were hormone-related. I found some relief in the spring with a low-dose estrogen patch only to be ordered to stop using it after an irregular mammogram. Four difficult months of testing and waiting went by. Luckily I was cleared and resumed HRT this fall, finishing the year finally feeling like I have a handle on things (hormonally at least).

Last spring, I went through a sort of crisis of faith concerning astrology. I had been learning about Hellenistic astrology and dabbling in a different method of house interpretation. Once I began studying my chart using the Whole Sign House system (vs. Placidus) - everything shifted for me. Something just clicked internally and all a sudden my chart made SO much more sense than it ever had before. So I decided to switch my approach to chart interpretation because I couldn’t in good faith go back. While pushing to finish my book, I enrolled in a more advanced astrology course so that I could feel grounded in this new way of understanding natal astrology. This was equally as important for my writing process because like 1/3 of my book was about astrology.

Another big change for me this year was around money. It’s been almost 6 years since I’ve been able to contribute to my family’s finances consistently. A big part of this had to do with understanding the money houses in my astrology chart and applying my energy accordingly. That has looked like becoming bi-vocational once again, and not putting so much pressure on myself to create income from my spiritual and artistic passions. I also LOVE working with small businesses - supporting them in their formation, and development, and providing virtual administration and bookkeeping support. I’ve gotten to work with a handful of clients this year in that respect and made a decent amount of income in the process 🤗 Getting paid for work I enjoy has shown me some blindspots I had around self-worth and I’m thankful for that growth!

My dreams for 2025 include completing another season of my podcast, finishing and launching my online course on Dance Divination, recording the audio version of my book, making space for doing more astrology readings (maybe even teaching), more gardening, and of course - WAY more dancing!

About the Blog

This blog is a resource for spiritual seekers, aspiring to professional dancers, and all those in between. I've spent more than half of my life weaving together my professional dance career and my spiritual path as both are equally important to me. The points of intersection that I've discovered over the past two decades are what fuels my soul. It's been a wild adventure and also a profoundly transformational journey - one that continues to evolve. My hope in reading this blog is that you'll be inspired to explore spirituality in new and embodied ways while also deepening your relationship with yourself and this incredible world we inhabit.
